Why this page exists

Plenty of sites imply they have handled every product they write about. Most have not. Rather than leave you guessing which kind of site this is, here is exactly how the reviews and guides on HN Solutions are made, and where the limits are.

If you only read one line: the free tools are built and used here every day. The hardware reviews are researched, not hands-on. Everything below expands on that.

The hardware reviews are research-based

The desk and travel gear covered on this site — keyboards, headphones, microphones, hubs, power banks, portable drives and monitors — has not been physically tested by us. Those articles are built from manufacturer specifications, published measurements, documented owner complaints and long-term feedback gathered from buyers who have lived with the product.

That is a real and useful kind of writing. It is not the same as a hands-on test, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Where a claim depends on holding the thing — how a keyboard sounds, whether a hinge feels cheap after six months — we either attribute it to owners who reported it or we leave it out.

Two sentences on this site previously implied hands-on testing. They have been removed.

The tools are a different matter

Every free tool on HN Solutions was built here, and the guides that accompany them are written by the person who wrote the code. The screenshots in those guides are of the real tool, taken while using it, not stock images or mockups.

That is also why the tools run in your browser rather than on a server: it was a design decision, not an accident, and it means the text and files you put into them are never transmitted anywhere. You can verify that yourself with your browser’s network tab.

How products get picked

• Availability. A product has to be buyable now. Discontinued gear gets removed rather than left up to collect clicks.
• Enough evidence. If there is not enough independent data to say something useful, the product does not get an article.
• Nobody pays for a slot. No brand has paid to appear here, and no brand has been given copy approval. If that ever changes it will be labelled on the article itself, not buried here.

What we will not do

• Invent a rating, a test result, or a number of hours spent with a product.
• Publish a testimonial from a reader who does not exist. There are none on this site, and the homepage says so where a testimonial section would normally sit.
• Round a real figure up to a rounder one. When this site says how many tools or guides it has, that number is counted from the database.
• Recommend something purely because it pays a higher commission.

How this site makes money

Through affiliate links, mainly Amazon Associates. If you buy through one, HN Solutions may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links carry rel="nofollow sponsored" and every page that contains them says so.

The tools are free and always will be. There is no account, no email wall and no usage limit, and nothing you enter into a tool is collected or sold, because it never leaves your device in the first place.

Prices and dates

Prices change constantly, so where a price appears it is a guide only — always check the retailer before buying. Articles carry a published date, and substantive updates change it. A date is not decoration here; if an article says it was updated, something in it actually changed.

When we get it wrong

Mistakes get corrected rather than quietly deleted. If a correction changes the substance of an article, it is noted in the article.

If you spot an error — a wrong spec, a dead link, a claim that does not hold up, a tool that misbehaves — please say so. Corrections from readers are the fastest way this site improves. You can reach us through the contact page.
